The skirting protection of plastic (polyethylene) has the advantage that it is capable of absorbing shocks and impacts very well without breaking by its high notched impact strength. In the case of impact, a part of the energy is absorbed by the bumper protection profile, thus protecting not only the structure, but also the colliding object. A further advantage lies in the massive construction and the homogeneous coloring of the material. It is not possible to flake off a color layer, as can be the case, for example, with MDF boards, laminated or veneered boards.

FAQ

All common woodworking machines can be used. Machining must be carried out by means of hard metal tools in order to obtain a visually perfect result.

The processing is possible with conventional woodworking machines. For example, lengths can be adapted on site, miter mitredges can be milled for corner formations or end matings milled. We offer a suitable processing on the site according to the requirements on site.

Due to the material properties and the processing as a solid material, there is no need for the material to be repaired or repainted. The wall protection strips are therefore maintenance-free.

Depending on the load carrying capacity and the stability of the wall, the barrier protection should be designed more strongly (for example in the case of a sensitive lightweight construction wall) or may be weaker (for example a concrete wall). In addition, it should be noted which vehicles are operating in this area and at what heights a wall protection is useful.

On request, we can provide you with all the corner formations, end seals and mounting materials for the necessary wall skirting protection. After prior consultation, suitable solutions can also be found for various substrates.

The material HDPE is very tough and resistant. Therefore, the machining must be machined and can not be post-polished. When polishing, the surface becomes blunt.

When processing polyethylene (HDPE), the expansion must be observed. We therefore recommend to store the material at least 24h a day before use. If large temperature fluctuations are present in the installation area, an assembly with expansion joints is appropriate.

No special preparations have to be made for screw mounting. If the wall protection strip is to be glued, the substrate must be clean and free of grease. The adhesive is applied to the substrate using a special adhesive tape.

2 people should be planned for trouble-free assembly.

If the builder wishes to seal the profiles by means of silicone, a special milling will be installed on the shop floor. Subsequent sealing without such a holding joint is difficult to achieve due to the thermal expansion and the poorly adhering surface.

After assembly, it is sufficient to wipe the profile with a cloth. Water and a soap solution can be used for this purpose. For stubborn soiling, nitro dilution can also be used.
