Boot cleaning is a part of every hygiene concept when it shall be avoided to carry in and out contaminations between a production area (hygiene area) and other areas such as a delivery zone or social rooms. In the process, the systems for cleaning boots are designed to clean boot shafts, soles and sole edges. The cleaning process of the systems functions using special brushes as well as a mixture of disinfectants and detergents thinned with water. For sensitive production areas such as in the food-processing industry and here, above all, in large-scale businesses of the meat industry, a forcibly-guided boot cleaning in a hygiene station is mostly prescribed by the food regulatory authority. In case of a high number of employees who have to be “guided through”, this inevitable boot cleaning solution in interaction with further hygiene facilities for hand cleaning and hand disinfectionensures a safe and reliable personnel and industrial hygiene.

The situation is different with regard to small craft businesses, such as butcheries and butcher shops for which a stationary solution for boot cleaningis mostly the better choice due to a limited space concept. The necessity for cleaning within the scope of a personnel hygiene concept (HACCP) is here mainly regulated via an operational directive. This type of hygiene concepts can be often found in small family businesses or businesses up to 10 employees, where the mutual hygiene education can still take place at eye level.
